My small pilgrimages to the edge of the Thames became more frequent this year. The harsh industrial landscapes are almost colourless, a mix of horizons from the bridges crossing to the far edges of the estuary. These paintings have been layered over previous studies; like the ebb and flow of the Thames they conceal and reveal horizons.
